A new Richard Gere movie is always an event for me. He is one of my favourite actors and I trust his judgement. So whenever I see him billed in any movie, I will purchase the DVD immediately. I was certainly not disappointed with his latest movie. I found it touching, heartwarming and food for the soul. Definitely not to be missed.

Hi Robert

I am right with you, I aren't a fan of Joan Crawford either!
But I enjoyed Mildred Pierce as a movie.

Thanks for the tip on a new movie, Terence.
Though, I have to say, I aren't a massive fan of Richard Gere either, I do like many of his films such as Days of Heaven.

Just realised I put a "what am I listening to now" in this thread rather than the music one.

It was 'the eyes' wasn't it Robert? Although in her younger days Bette Davis's eyes were considered to be really attractive "come to bed" eyes!!

I love the film "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane". In fact Bette Davis made some great films. Did you ever see the film about Joan Crawford's life story, "Mommie Dearest" with Faye Dunaway, Robert?

I thought that Bette Davies was quite attractive in her younger days, and what a fantastic actress.

Yes L&H, I admit Bette Davis was attractive in her very younger years..................but that changed dramatically soon afterwards

I will have seen Mommie Dearest on TV a few years back, john  :)

Jack Jones always referred to Joan Crawford as his 'Godmother,' as she was a family friend and lived closeby when he was a little boy.
He said he never saw anything like the side of her that was portrayed in "Mommie Dearest".

Thats interesting Marian, never knew that.

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane is quite boring, I feel.
I watched on TCM last year, and was quite underwhelmed by it.
I did watch it when I was younger and my memory told me me it was better than it was.

Thats my opinion, anyway! :)
