Elton John at Caesars Palace - The Red Piano Tour

Post by Catherine M » Mon Feb 09, 2009 10:19 pm

I was fortunate enough to experience the Grandmaster at this illustrious
venue. He did Britain proud with his new tour. The production, video
graphics and huge stage inflatables were out of this world.

He is currently enjoying a run of success in the USA and invited the lucky
6 front rows to join him around the piano for a final rendition of Candle in the Wind. Trust me to get a ticket in the Gods!

Sounds like your trip to Vegas was really fantastic---I have been to Caesar's Palace for concerts--quite a place!!! Although I am not 100% into Elton John, I can appreciate what a stupendous concert that would have been.

There is always something going on in Las Vegas--last time I was there, one of the hottest tickets was for Michael Crawford in EFX at the MGM--just spectacular !!! [EFX stands for Effects]

Las Vegas is certainly a feast for the eyes and if you can avoid the
obvious temptations, it makes for an interesting holiday.

Our french tour guide was telling us that Celine Dion was paid 100 million
dollars for her season there last year. Rumour has it that her husband
gambled away 9 million dollars in one night - so the miracle is - that
they are still together !

I did manage to visit the Sahara Hotel where they have a lot of Beatles
memorabilia and where you can stay in the same room that they stayed in
for a surcharge. No momento of Matt Monro on the walls though, even though all the greats who loved him:
Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr and Jack Benny are remembered for their time at the Sahara.

Maybe the powers that be on this website should seek to rectify this.

Sounds wonderful Catherine, and gambling wasn't Celine Dion's husbands only weakness either, :  evil: and remembering her devastation when he was sick and she helped him back to recovery.
What a way to repay her.

I did not know that information on Celine Dion--and she did not deserve that treatment----but as we all know--money does not always bring happiness!

Well, I would have thought being in the position to kick him out of the door could have given her happiness.
