Last year at our supper quiz one of two answers that she had wrong was when and who invented Cat's Eyes. She insisted that it was 1933, but Percy Shaw patented this in 1934, but it's a social evening that we enjoy, and the nearest our table has got to winning so far is third.

Last Tueday we had a speaker named Brian Crouch, chairman of the BBC CONCERT ORCHESTRA supporters association, who as we know have played for Friday Night is Music Night for over 25 years.
There was a good audience of 77 people and before the talk we were all given a piece of paper to write our names on. He held up an old concert programme which in those days never had the dates on, and after months of researching he successfully found it. We were all asked to write down what date we thought this was. I was the only one who had the correct date.
1915, .. OOoooooo !!!

I received a very nice CD, ..SHOWTIME. 25 years of BBC Concert Favourites. A selection of music, Ron Goodwin, Stanley Black, Robert Farnon. Eric Coates, Cole Porter, Sidney Torch. priced at £19.30 on Amazon.
