Watched 'Doubt' at the weekend, the new Meryl Streep movie.

I enjoyed it, it's slowly paced, but it's an acting masterclass and I never felt bored, quite absorbing.

We watched "The Alphabet Killers" last night, but I didn't think much to it. To be honest, I fell asleep half way through. I will stick to the faithful old black and white comedies I think.

Sorry Gray, I should have been more specific, yes it is a movie just been released, but like I said, I didn't care for it. It was made last year.

Watched an Eleanor Powell DVD today "I Dood It" from 1943 - co-starring Red Skelton :) I had to watch it on my PC, as the DVD was in mpg. format, which don't normally play on DVD player's.

Too Many Crooks is about this gang of robbers, headed by George Cole and Sid James who have a habit of botching up robberies. Anyhow they target a wealthy business man, Terry Thomas, and plan to kidnap his daughter, but instead mistakedly kidnap his wife. When he refuses to pay any ransome, from £10,000 to less than £200.00 and says that they can keep his wife instead, his wife takes over as leader of the gang and gets all his money. Great comedy.

Gray, I love every film Ellie is in :D but I Dood It is not Ellies finest moment, as her MGM career was coming to an end at this time, and in this film they used some of Ellie's dances from earlier MGM film's, which is a bit of a swizz.

I was alarmed when I noted that the running time of AUSTRALIA was 165 minutes. So just before I played the DVD, I made myself a cup of strong black coffee. However the 2 leads Nicole Kidman & Hugh Jackman were so charismatic that I finished the movie without drinking a sip. May I recommend this epic to everyone......it's a great entertaining movie!

I think this is the same Hugh Jackman who played Curly in Oklahoma at the National Theatre--the one that had Maureen Lipman in---or am I mistaken ?
