This afternoon I watched Gregory Peck in The Man In The Grey Flannel Suit, I bough this in Australia and can't remember ever seeing it before, I quite enjoyed it - I'm a fan of Gregory's anyway. He did a one man show some years ago when I was in Boston but the tickets were expensive so I didn't bother. I think he as talking about his life if I remember correctly.

Been watching classic Doctor Who adventures on DVD:
Doctor Who - The Time Monster. I'm really enjoying Jon Pertwee and forgot what a hands on doctor he was.

Watched the remake of The Evil Dead last night...

Oh my word.
If I may summarise the experience...
Blood
Swearing
Blood
More swearing
Drugs
Blood
Blood
Blood
Blood
yet more swearing
yet more blood
Guts (with yet more Blood)

Thats about it!
Can't say I'd recommend it to you all!
:)

Gray,
I thought the same thing about the remake of Evil Dead. Goodness can't we go back to a horror film that plays on your mind instead of gore and swearing within the first 10 minutes of the film. Call me old fashion but I'd take one of the classic Hammer Films over this kinda garbage!!! :-)

I agree, Eman.
Have you seen a film from the 1960's called, 'The Haunting'?
That was spooky.
Or a British film called 'The Innocents'. with Deborah Kerr, which was rather unsettling!

The scariest thing about Evil Dead was that I paid to see it!

Gray, yeah I've seen them and those are the kinds of horror films that really stick to your bones and minds after years gone by. That Evil Dead movie was just blehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

Will you be bothering with The Great Gatsby, Eman?
Getting some very luke warm reviews over here that have put me off.

I volunteer at a community cinema - www.sbcommunitycinema.co.uk - and tonight we are showing the German film, 'Good Bye Lenin!'
Have you ever seen that?
It is a new one to me, quite looking forward to it.

Gray, no I'm not going to bother. It's getting too much hype and I've heard it strays away from the novel and the 1973/74 Redford/Farrow version. I'm hearing things how it's as weird as the 90's version of Romeo and Juliet.

Sounds like a really cool organization you volunteer for Gray. Haven't seen that film. Do you all show films from other countries. Let me know if you have screenings of any Filipino films and I may be able to give you a review on them.

Hi Eman

We would definitely consider showing Filipino films, I have to be honest and say my knowledge of Filipino cinema is sadly lacking.
Could you recommend any, please?
I will then see if I can get a license and put it to the rest of the committee.

Thank you! :)
