What would you like to see re-issued?

Post by Rmoore » Tue Apr 30, 2013 9:32 am

Firstly don't get excited, this is just a hypothetical situation here, but following on from the Bassey thread:-

Besides Matt, If you had the choice, what recordings would you like to see re-issued? Or which artists would you like to have comprehensive compilations or archive/unreleaased recordings released?

Richard

Jack Jones complete RCA catalogue and the remaining Scott Walker abums that have never been released on cd, if my memory serves me well they are The Moviegoer & Scott Sings Songs From His TV Series.

Gotta agree with Karl on the Jack Jones RCA albums

I'd also like to see some of the Unreleased David Cassidy/Partridge Family tracks that were sung on the show but not released.

A lot of the 70's groups that I used to listen to as a kid such as:

The DeFranco Family (a proper release with great sound quality would top the one the came out years ago which now has a ridculous price on Ebay and Amazon)

Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods - all their lps (there were only 3)

and of course all Matt's american lps!

Scott Walker refuses to allow the re-issue of some of his 60's material and I believe both of these albums haven't been re-issued for this reason.

I know that Richard (I wonder why when the rest are on cd. Anyway, one lives in hope.

When you heard the weird stuff Scott releases nowadays, I am amazed his record company actually do release it!

Johnny Mathis--there is still a whole load of recordings that have never made it onto cd---plus of corrse Jack Jones--the RCA albums--and the Kapp albums.

Also Vince Hill has plenty of LPs that could go onto cd, and I also know there are some of Dickie Valentine.

Plus obviously anything from Matt.

I second Marian's Johnny Mathis Columbia material and Vince Hill's Emi Columbia catalogue.

However this is just wishful thinking as Richard isn't doing anything and even if he was it iwould takek him years to do all this!!!!

I also have a great album by Bernie Taupin called Tribe that's never been releasd on cd, I burned it myself.

Also I'd like the Jackie Trent's complete Pye catalogue & Emi Columbia material on cd plus Hits Symphonic by Tony Hatch.

Oh yes..got to agree with Mariana and Karl on Johnny Mathis. I'd love to see "You Light Up My Life", "Mathis Is" and some of his 70's albums on cd again. I can't believe the prices they are going for now!!

When Tony Christie was re-discovered I thought his back catalogue may have been released on cd - but no. Again I have all his vinyl albums and the newer one's which are on cd.

Also there are still a few unreleased tracks of Dusty recordingl lurking somewhere, I even have one of them on a cd I was given. It would be nice to finally see her complete unreleased material made available.

Jack Jones - the RCA albums ; Barbra Streisand - all the unreleased songs she rejected over the years so Release Me Vol 2, 3, 4, 5 please ; Johnny Mathis's albums not yet on CD but no more compilations please ; the Shirley Bassey tracks that Richard remastered!

I'd like to have all the recordings (Studio or Radio or Concerts) that AL MARTINO did while
he resided in the U.K. for those 5-6 years. I have some but I am sure there are many more!
With the help of John, Lena & Harry and his other British Fans, there probably is enough music
to fill a 2 or 3-CD Set.........Is this possible?
