Jack Jones
Re: Jack Jones
Every time I've seen JJ he's had a band, Joe Kloess used to be his MD and there was alwyay a brass section, I feel rather cheated when they only have a small trio - that's why I won't pay a small fortune to see Tony Bennet with a trio.
Re: Jack Jones
A brief interview on Loose Ends last night, on first so I didn't have to wait long, or miss BGT!
At least we know now that Jack's not retiring, and it was somebody else's idea that he makes this his Farewell Tour. Maybe they're trying to tell him something!
On Wogan this morning at 12.15.

Re: Jack Jones
I thought Jack sounded rather tongue tied at times on Wogan, howeve he said there are no tv plans which I think is shocking - a great talent like that should be given as much exposure as he can get - too bad he doesn't have the same agent as Petula Clark as she was on everything and her tour is not until October.
Re: Jack Jones
He's never interviewed well, but I thought the Wogan interview was better than most. He's on radio again on 12th May with Aled Jones. This must have been re-recorded as that's the day he opens in Dublin.
Re: Jack Jones
Jack seemed to be on Pebble Mill at One nearly every week in the 70's

Re: Jack Jones
I've heard better intervews in the past Marian when he was on Wogan's tv show but I agree sometimes he isn't so great. Maybe he's a little jet-lagged?Marian wrote:He's never interviewed well, but I thought the Wogan interview was better than most. He's on radio again on 12th May with Aled Jones. When are you going to see him? I think you are booked for several shows!
Re: Jack Jones
The first concert we are going to is Tuesday 14th in Bournemouth, then Saturday 18th in Croydon, Basingstoke on Sunday 19th, then Birmingham on the 25th, followed by the last night in Southsea on 2nd June.

Re: Jack Jones
Marian-I can imagine how excited you all are--I well remember the feeling from our Johnny Mathis tours. Glad to hear that it will not be the final tour--but where is all the promotion for his concerts ??
I still wish I was going, but totally impossible---why on earth can they not do a live dvd--there must be loads of people like me, who would love to go, but cannot.

Re: Jack Jones
I checked the online seating plan again yesterday for the Usher Hall and it's still bad, I am praying they don't call to say it's cancelled. If it is I would go to Glasgow but I may not get a good seat. I have a great seat for the Edinburgh show.
They need to get Jack on The One Show, or any damn show to give him some promotion!!!!!

Re: Jack Jones
Checked the web site today and the hall still looks less than half full, only twelve days to go before showtime!
Marian I hope your venues have more tickets sold?

I hope so Karl!
Re: Jack Jones
Jack is on Radio Wales with Aled Jones at 2p.m today

Re: Jack Jones
You can listen on your computer Marian. Actually I just have.

Re: Jack Jones
Marian we don't want him on the radio, we want him on tv where he will be seen by a majority.
If Jack does have an agent, he or she is useless, Jack should get Petula Clark's - whoever they are they do great things for Pet.
