THE THINGS YOU READ, SEE AND HEAR. !!

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Sat Jul 06, 2013 6:42 pm

We did have this thread before, but a long way back, but as we often read so many things these days that are difficult to believe, we thought we would start with this one.
Tomorrow morning radical hate cleric Abu Qatada will be leaving Belmarsh prison and from RAF Brize Norton will be deported and flown to Jordan where he will await trial.
As the weather outside is so beautiful, crowds may even gather to wave him off, mainly we imagine with a Two fingered salute. :D :D

Just been watching this on the news Lena, and to think it has only cost the UK taxpayer £1.5 million pounds over the last few years to try and deport him.

Yes, not a lot of money when you say it quick is it John. He's run rings round the dozey politicians and the law that have allowed him to appeal against his deportation time and time again.

Not much good news about is there, but here we go again. More care homes for the elderly under scrutiny after one staff member gets dismissed from her job and several other so called carers get suspended after being caught abusing a patient.
Well done to that patients' Grandaughter for sertting up a camera to show the abuse being administered to the helpless residents in this home, and paying Seven Hundred Pounds a week for the privilege.
I expect to hear the same old story that...lessons will be learned.

Then the shocking news of a fatal stabbing at a school. A dedicated teacher who had given Forty years of her life to this profession and had her life taken from her in such terrible circumstances.
There will be suggestions made and how this should never be allowed to happen again, and yes ...you've guessed it, lessons will be learned.

I was going to post about this if nobodoy else did, it is indeed shocking and according to everyone she was a lovely person retiring in a few months.

How can anyone be so wicked at 15 years of age? And he didn't just stop at one blow, what the hell was he taking a knife to school for anyway? They say he was a nice lad, not SO nice though if he did something like that?

Anyway may Ann Maguire rest in peace and condolences to her family and friends.

Yes, it was awful about the teacher, just months away from retiring after 40 years at the same school too. You just never heard about things like this happening at one time.

Dreadful news, and our thoughts go to her family too.
Our daughter is a teacher in a primary school, and she was once punched in the stomach by one of the pupils.

And this is part of the reason I never went into teaching school, at University I was majoring in English but when all the school violence started to come up, I decided against it. I did get my degree, but never went into the teaching profession. It's a hard job and those who persue it have a lot of courage and dedication. I see school violence here on the news almost everyday if not every week. It"s a sad story.

Can understand what you are saying Eman. My niece and her husband have been teachers for many years now, and over that time some stories they tell us are really shocking.
Just one story, one day my niece telephoned home and to the police when an angry Father of an obnoxious out of control pupil who she had to reprimand, came to the school threatening her. She was terrified and locked herself in the classroom until help arrived. What a example that Father was. The boy was eventually expelled.
