No, I did not know about Julie Rogers either.

But overall a great show-starting with Michael Buble singing "~The way you look tonight"-one of my favourite songs ever--and Michaels version is 2nd to Frank Sinatra as best version, in my opinion !

WE also had lovely Dickie Valentine--plus a little of Barbra Streisand., along with our Matt of course.

I love it when Don talks about the music and the clever rhymes--I have often heard him pick out some rhymes that appeal to him , in other shows. I am just waiting now for him to play Jack Jones and Johnny Mathis, although I guess it is possible I missed them in earlier shows when I fell asleep--but I stayed awake for all last night's show.

I'm always working when these shows come on! However, I have seen Don Black several times at rare John Barry concerts at The Royal Albert Hall years ago. He used to mimic John's Yorkshire accent which was dire! John had a rich voice with years living in the States. His stories about the two of them were slightly over the top as well....that's show business!!

Tonight Don played Matt singing his wonderous version of The Nearness of You :D .................Don then mentioned the note which Hoagy Carmichael sent Matt complimenting Matt on singing one of Hoagy's songs, but I think Don got The Nearness of You mixed up with One Morning in May ..............

Just to add that Don played a song by Millicent Martin who now lives in America............ Don mentioned Millicent used to appear regularly on That Was the Week That Was :) ..........a bit of a coincidence, as the show is recorded beforehand.

Made us smile when Don talked of places where he and Matt worked, for instance Rio De Janeiro, and Don suggested going to see Ipanemo Beach and Matt replies...it's only a beach son, sit down and have a game of cards. :D and in Hong Kong and in the Plaza Hotel when Don said there's Broadway to see, Fifth Avenue, Forty Second Street and Matt replied I'm going to stay in and watch Crown Court They give the verdict tonight. :D That's our Matt :D
