Just heard The Impossible Dream, what a great arrangement the song has, and Matt hold's the final note for bang on 10 seconds :) earlier Matt holds the final note on From Russia With Love for a full 12 seconds......................incredible :) :)

I hope you'll listen to Jack's too Robert   He can hold that last note for ever... even now.

I'm listening to Michael Ball's interview with Tom Jones at the moment.

Thanks anyway Robert, I got there eventually! Good interview as everyone has said. :D :D

Of course Jack has played Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, as his Dad did before him, so I really associate him more than anyone else with the Impossible Dream.

To me The Impossible Dream is a "standard" which has been covered by just about every crooner in the business :)

Re "The Impossible Dream" Johnny Mathis has done it as a medley, with"The Impossible Dream" "Man of La Mancha" and "Dulcinea"----why is "Dulcinea" so seldom heard --it is just stunning.

I am currently listening to an album by a Fillipino singer Claire De La Feunte called "Something In Your Eyes", the title track originally recorded by Richard Carpenter and Dusty Springfield. She has a lovely voice and the album is superb.

Is she from your era (1950s - early 1970s) or a contemporary singer?

No Paul, this is right up to date, recorded last year in fact. But it is a lovely album, mostly ballads, but very, very hard to find.

I am sure she has been mentioned on this Forum before---maybe by John--if not , it could have been Terence.

Yes, it was me that mentioned her Marian, and put a link to her video Something In Your Eyes.
