STRICTLY COME DANCING. 2013.

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Sun Sep 29, 2013 3:50 pm

Has anyone else been watching the Two opening nights of Strictly. The last Two nights have given us the chance to see the couples perform their first dance together. It was quite entertaining and as usual and as expected there were couples who showed great promise and others who showed true lack of dancing skills but that's what makes it such a fun and enjoyable programme. Natalie Gumede was undoubtably the best on Friday night and with Abbey Clancey on Friday both got the highest scores from the panel of judges.
Difficult at this stage to pick out a favourite to win, probably much easier to pick out ones who wont. :D :D

i agree-i enjoyed both shows-and I recognised nearly everyone, so that helps. i do miss the regular profeesionals--there are so few of them left.

I think the one going next week could be out of 3---Vanessa, Dave, or Tony.

Very open at the moemy as to who will win, but the girls look really strong .

Yes, we missed the previous professionals but I suppose we will get used to the new ones.
I agree the Three names you've mentioned Marian will need a lot of hard training, although I was surprised by one or Two who put in a better performance than I was expecting, like Deborah Meaden and Mark Benton, and Vanessa Feltz who enjoys talking more than listening will need to put in some hours. :D

Some very good performances on last nights show, and some not so good, and after being in the dance off for the Third time it was no surprise to see Julien Macdonald and his partner leave after the dance off against Rachel Riley tonight
Either Dave Myers ...the Hairy Biker or Mark Benton will be the fly in the ointment in this series...there always has to be at least one there to keep the fun and humour in the show even though at the cost of better dancers each week.
Natalie Gumede looks as if she could lift the trophy now, but Abbey Clancy and Sophie Ellis Baxter look to be the closest contenders and judging by Fiona Fullerton's performance last night it looks as though Anton Du Bek may have drawn the short straw again.

Fuunily enough, my sister and I had been talking before the show started, and i mentioned that I was surprised at how weak a dancer Rachel was---I guess I am not the only one who thinks that.

To me , it looks like it is between Sophie and Natalie-as long as Natalie stays fit---Abby is a good dancer too--but in my mind lacks a little sparkle that the other 2 have.

Some very good performances on Saturday night, and again Natalie showed that she has what it takes to be in the final, but who knows, even Mark Benton is now taking it seriously and improving, but it was so sad when Deborah Meaden lost in the dance off, and Robin was so upset for her and genuinely in tears...(so were we  ) we know It's all down to public voting but it seems so unfair when competitor Dave Myers ..the worst entrant of them all .. who is so embarrassing and not even the slightest bit funny is still in the competition, but of course his time will eventually run out.
Felt sorry for Rachel this time , after all it's the professionals who choose and choreograph their dances and she tried so hard.
Abbie is improving and still looking good.. Sophie is unpredictable, sometimes lacks enthusiasm, but pleased to see that Anton and Fiona are still there. :)

I think it is a shame that Deborah went last night--but I really did not like that dance, with the tables--plus I HATE that song-I think Robin was upset as he knew it was his fault for choosing that routine.

Yes, it was a silly routine and the professionals should know by now how much Len Goodman hates all that messing about before they actually get in to the dance and should have known what his reaction and comments would be.

I was surprised that Abbey and Rachel were in the dance off last night but I think that Abbey is the better dancer and I think she will become a serious contender as the weeks go by.

I think the judges will now want the competition to be voted for as that and not an entertainment show as much as Dave and Mark keep us entertained each week.

We felt sorry for Rachel last night. She had tried and improved so much and last night was her best dance. It seems wrong even at this stage that the better contestants are being voted off while the public's voting is keeping in the embarrassing Dave Myers who should have gone out the first week. Mark Benton apart from his weight and shape that lets him down, has at least become serious about the competition.

We see this time and again, where deservinbg dancers are sent off too early, and bad dancers kept in--I am not sure what the answer is.

Rachel had definately imprved, and it was sad to see Pasha go-I would love him to win one year.

Rachel was just unlucky--she did not stand a chance against Abby, which she knew---against someone else she may have been saved. Not s
ure why Abby was in the bottom 2---it was not her best dance, but it did not justify the reszult.
