Here' s a clip of Johnny Mathis and Susan Boyle singing "Do you hear what I hear"--just beautiful.

When i first saw Susan on "Britain's got talent", never in my wildest imagination, did I ever think that she would be singing a duet with Johnny Mathis !!

Just sound only, with a still picture

That track is also on Susan's forthcoming Xmas cd Marian.

I must say though I thought Johnny sounded rather stilted, his words were not flowing as they usually do.

You have to remember Karl that JM is now 78 years old-as of yesterday---and his is never going to sound like he did 50 years ago-or even 20 years ago. But he is still able to fill up places like the O2, and MENA----enormous arenas.

John is flying into UK, and doing an interview on the Alan Titchmarsh show on 5th November.

He is also going to Manchester to see Paul Michael Glaser in "Fiddler on the roof"

This is a beatiful clip of John singing a song called "I am My Fathers son"--a new song to me, and certainly never sung by John Before--it is some sort of award ceremony involving Bill Withers. John was exceptionally close to his own dad, so I klnow this song would be really special to him.

Marian is this recent? Too bad the camera didn't zoom in a little but I suppose that's Bill; Withe's with the white hair & beard at the podium?

Great performance from Johnny, it all seems a low-key event.

Yes, I think it is fairly recent. And yes, Bill Withers is at the front.

I did post that earlier--but thanks for the reminder.

A lot of my friends tried for tickets, but they were all gone---just 2 managed to get some, because her daughter does work for ITV--so we are all a little jealous of Angie and Pat !!!

Not having seen Johnny Mathis on tv for years my first impression was he looks much older - however he did look well. His eyes seem deeper than I remember, perhaps it's an age thing.

Johnny has done the same as Petula, gone on tv months ahead of their shows to promote them so why doesn't Jack Jones do the same? You have to let people know about the shows and tv is the best vehicle for that.

It's good they persuaded Johnny to sing a few lines of When A Child Is Born.

Marian, how much are the seats for Johnny Mathis concerts? Alfie Boe's best seats are £65, much too expensive in my view!

Just a link to a pic from the show this afterrnoon-I thought he looked really good--remembering that he is now 78. This is the first time in many many years , since he was last on Uk tv.

Marian, I do not know how much the seats are--probably in that same range as Alfie--and I know my friends will not mind how much they pay---but many are very disappointed with their seats at the 02--despite having a 3 day prioroty booking period, they are sitting in places like row YD---which is way way back---so where the other seats have gone is a mystery--the 02 is a huge place--I have friends coming down from Scotland , France and USA to the 02, so some of them are quite upset that he will look like a dot on the horizon--and the 02 does not have screens--or did not last time that JM was here.

For a huge venue not to have screens is ridiculous but then again if we have to view our favourite singers on a screen might as well do it iin the comfort of our homes and watch their dvd.

I much prefer seeing my favourites in a concert hall or theatre where you can actually see them!

That's why I like the smaller venues, rather than these massive arenas.
