Dancing on Ice 2009

Post by Marian » Mon Jan 12, 2009 7:30 pm

Anyone watch last night? I think they are quite an interesting group of celebs this time. Unfortunately due to the darts final I missed the main show and just recorded the results show which I saw this morning.

Yes I watched it--very entertaining--but Todd Carty should have gone.

Ray Quinn was amazing--is there nothing that he cannot do--he won an award for acting at a very young age--lots of Dancing Medals---2nd in x-factor--and on track for winning the Ice Skating-before the girls have even danced. He is favourite at the moment.

All the girls seem really young-apart from Colleen, who is I am sure the oldest-and I think she may go first, as she did not sound very confident.

I remember Ray Quinn as a young disturbed boy in "Brookside".

That is the programme and role for which he won a Tv award--as best child actor, as I recall.

Looks like Todd Carty will now become the 'John Sargeant' of Dancing on Ice, and Ray Quinn looks like being the winner already. :D
I thought Melinda did well last night after being in the skate off last week though.

Well he didn't last as long as John I don't think but at least he was voted out fairly and was good entertainment for a few weeks. Bye Todd!

I do not think it is completely goodbye to Todd, as he has been signed up for the "Dancing on Ice " tour.

I think I have figured out why he became so popular--everyone at home watching, would see him skate and think---"That is exactly how I would be on the Ice"--or in my case I would not even be able to stand up.

Some of the others make it look so easy, and Todd has reminded evereyone that it is not !!!!

Mind you that humorous disappearance Todd performed was perfectly judged  right near to the tunnel...a fantastic Norman Wisdom skit... Brilliant

I guess a lot of people thought so-Philip said it had 1.5 million hits on Youtube in a week.

Well it was the final last night and a worthy winner in Ray. He was the very best from the beginning and I was really pleased he won. :D :D
I thought Jessica would have come second, but Donal had had such a terrific journey and had lots of fans so I suppose he deserved his 2nd position too.

It would have been a travesty if Ray had not won last night-especially after getting 2 sets of perfect marks.

I think Donal was a good second--Jessica was very good--but not quite exciting enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series, and especially the final show last night.

Yes it was a great final and a smashing series.Sunday night will not be the same until 'Strictly' starts on a Saturday night.
Has anyone ever been to either the skating or dancing 'live' tours?
Did anyone ever buy the Ray Quinn debut CD after the X Factor?
A bit raw but a great selection of songs.

Yes, I bought the Ray Quinn cd--I was surprised to learn that he has been dropped by his record company. I bet they are regretting that decision now, with the high profile that Ray has now.
