I had never heard of them before, they are about a family of hill billies headed by Ma and Pa Kettle who have either 14 or 15 children. Just brilliant. They don't make them k=like that anymore. :)
I remember the repeats in the early seventies ...loved it ..i love the old shows ..

I had forgotten them-but as soon as I read the name, I could see them in my mind.

They used to be on in the afternoons John when I was about 8 ...i remember the old grannie was hilarious and the dippy girl and her boyfriend :?: My sons have discovered a few old programmes Monty Python and Fawlty towers ...open all hours and I was watching Are You Being Served the other day....great comic timings from all these shows :D

I watched an old American NTSC video tape tonight called One Night Stand with Lionel Hampton. I've had it for years, it's hosted by Mel Torme and has a great list of guests including:-
Teddy Wilson
Gene Krupa
Dusty Springfield
JOhnny Mercer
Buddy Rich

Gene Krupa certainly knew how to play the drums, he was excellent!

MAxine - Lucille Ball was brilliant.

Does anyone remember her standng beside the lift (elevator) and she was wearing a knitted suit? A thread caught in the door and the lift went up and up unwinding her suit and she's trying hard to cover herself up - her expressions's were priceless.

I would love to see that again, she must have been the funniest woman ever!

I also remember her being interviewed on tv before chat shows really got started and she said she didn't know what she was going to say, they told her just to say anything so she told the story of having a baby. Now if that had been Joan Rivers it would have been crude but Lucille was hilarious.

I recorded that, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. The reviews say it was excellent. Day Of The Doctor is on tonight in the UK.

Yep, exactly Robert. David Bradley who played William Hartnell was the perfect choice. He looked just like him and so did the actress who played Carole Ann Ford (Susan, the Doctor's Granddaughter)

The High Life.

I thought about buying this tv series for a long time and I'm glad I finally did.

Last night I watched four episodes and found it very funny as I really could not remember much about it. It's about a bunch of Scottish flight attendants and their Captain who is totally wacky - he doesn't even know where the cockpit is and has to ask the attendants where they are flying to.

It's bawday and irreverant but very funny, however I would NEVER fly with that airline!!!!!!!
