Hi

Yes, I saw the Clough program Lena, and enjoyed it.
I've read many footballers autobiographers and it seems that for every ex-player who worshipped Brian Clough there are others who he upset or left cold.


Yes, Marian, for sure I will let you know.
I hope I like it - I Have at least another three visits to the cinema planned with friends! :) :shock:

Just bought Michael Balls new CD called Past and Present.
I think he must be my second favourite singer.
His version of Abba's 'The Winner Takes It All' is superb,and he does a pretty good job of 'The Impossible Dream' too!

Hi Sandra--that's Ok--we all do it occasionally.
Yes , Michael B a L L is a big favourite of mine too.

The reason why the surname was changed was because it was considered in "Undesirable word", so they are automatically changed, even though the word may be being used quite innocently. It just protects us all from anything really nasty.

I thought of you after the movie as it's a typically British film (low budget, "It's Grim Up North" type) and you seem to watch a lot of those!

Very strong performances, limited but effective football sequences (notoriously difficult to replicate in film apparently) - I would of liked more football! but the film is consistantly entertaining.

You will all laugh at this but there isn't enough focus on Leeds United!
Seriously, the bulk of the film is Derby County! Honest!
Had there been more Leeds it would of been 5 out of 5! :lol:

However, I really enjoyed it.
I wanted to go back and see it again at midnight!
Still i'm going again tomorrow with a group from work and cannot wait!

I just kept pinching myself throughout the film and saying "this is Leeds United, not Liverpool, or Manchester United, or Chelsea etc, but my Leeds United!" - I was so happy! :)

A word of warning though - lot's and lot's of very strong language. :oops:

Just watched what is surely the greatest film ever made, just behind The Damned United, Busybodies with Laurel and Hardy. :)
