Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
I remember Paul being a big follower of Gabrielle's music and I was surprised to find she is on a short tour in this country at the moment. She was on "Breakfast" this morning singing 'Dreams'.
So this a post primarily for Paul, even though it is too far for you to travel!

Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
She was on the Paul O'Grady show a few nights ago, nice enough person but I'm not a fan although I quite like some of her songs.
Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
She has a 2CD greatest hits coming out, which looks good value
Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
I love the son she sang with East 17 If You Ever i think it's called ..

Softly, I will leave you softly
For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go.....

Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
Thanks Marian for telling me about the tour. As I've written previously on this forum, I've flown to the UK twice to see Gabrielle in concert: once at Royal Festival Hall and earlier at St David Hall in Cardiff which was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Such an exciting show and it was at the time of her Rise album, her best. I won't be able to come over for her mini tour. I'm glad she's getting good press.
Karl: I hope you like Give Me a Little More Time from her second album. It has a pure 60s sound. It was a big hit for her, but I never hear it anymore on Radio 2 or Smooth Radio.
Maxine: yes, If You Ever is the title of her hit with East 17. The original was If I Ever Fall in Love by the group Shai from Washington, DC. I don't think it was a hit in the UK. I like the Gabrielle and East 17 version, but prefer Shai's recording. They do it a capella and a remix with backing track.
Mike: I didn't know the release was a double CD. I think it includes six new songs and her greatest hits. (I just saw a track listing and I have everything but some remixes which don't interest me, and the six new songs. They didn't include my favourite Over You. So I don't know if I'll be purchasing it. I wish it was all new material.

Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
Paul I don't think I know that song, the only one I really know is Out Of Reach.
You must really be a fan to come over for her concert?
I am hoping Steve Tyrell will be appearing somewhere on the West Coast in 2014 when I'm there. It still bugs me that I missed him in Japan years ago but that's a long story .
I think I told Mariana awhile back

Saw her again on "The One Show" last night.

Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
Paul, Gabrielle has just been on 'The Wright Stuff.' She has an new album coming out next week, and a tour starting next March. Details on her web site.

Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
Hope she can see properly out of ONE eye

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
She has a problem with the other one, a drooping eyelid. Apparently she used to wear an eyepatch.
Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
Thanks Marian, I remember now

I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Gabrielle on Tour in U.K.
Is that what's wrong with her Marian? I never knew that and thought the eye patch was just a gimmick but I did wonder when she was on Paul O'Grady's show why her hair was over one eye - it looked rather annoying. However I remember the days when I could do the same!!!!!!!!
