My dad took me Karl and in those days they didn't always let you in ....I was so embarrassed I didn't tell them....I did years later and they were mortified .......dentist in the old days ....didn't you just love them? I like this icon coz it's got big teeth

I bet your doc was careful after that.....I am quite a placid person ...I've had few ding dongs when miserable neighbours have had a go at the children...oh yes and when I was pregnant with my youngest i went storming in to a shop ...completely out of character for me and told them off for not believing hubby that they had said we could pick up an item of furniture that day that had been paid for....they did not believe him....lol well that was it ....hubby said its ok all sorted now trying to calm me down ....I was fuming that they questioned hubby's honesty.....nearly brought baby on ....instead of saying something like ...madam would you like to go into this room and we can chat ...(away from the customers...) he just let me rant lolol ...Mother's Day -1990 ...I had about a week to go till baby born ...i still can't believe it when I think about how angry i was  ....

My bad experience with a local dentist happened some years ago. I had toothache and booked an appointment and was told that the payment would cover any treatment that was needed. When It was my turn in the room to see him he asked me why I hadn't been to him before and I explained that I had never had the need for a dentist. But you are glad to come now, he said !!! I was quite surprised at his attitude and thought it was rather a rude comment.
I had cocaine and he suddenly hit a nerve which made me shout out as you can imagine, and I felt that it was deliberate.
He then said...don't shout out please, I don't want my regular customers out there in the waiting room hearing that.
I was so upset and in shock that after he extracted the tooth I quickly gave the receptionist the money and left the surgery.
When I got home, I wrote a letter to the Family Practitioners Service and told them exactly what had happened and how this dentist had left me so upset and distressed. I received a letter back stating that they had taken note of the contents of my letter, and apologetic at the treatment that I had received. A couple of weeks later a very polite and friendly letter arrived from the surgery informing me that I had left the surgery without making an appointment for my follow up treatment that was included in the payment I had made, and to phone and make an appointment.
I phoned the surgery and the receptionist passed me over to the doctor who was very polite. I thanked him for the letter and told him that I wouldn't go back to him if he was the last dentist on earth, adding that I doubted if he would ever be found fit to qualify as a vet. The silence was deafening. !!!

When I was child, a dentists once pulled out the wrong tooth!
It was one of mine, not somebody else's (at least he got that bit right), but it was the wrong side of my mouth! :D

And I can't resist telling the gag I always say to the kids when we go to the dentist:
"We're at the dentist on Thursday. What time is the appointment? Tooth Hurty." :)

Great story L&H and good joke from Gray.

Years ago my mum had a bad experience at a local dentist, the injection they gave her instantly made her very dizzy - I think they all had a fright as they sent her home in a taxi. I think the nurse came with her and they later called to make sure she was ok. My mum never went back to them, she signed up with my dentist.

Well the good news is i went to complain to one of their associates around the corner ....they couldn't have been lovelier....the receptionist was almost crying with me. ( i know I get a bit that way ) ...she arranged for dentist to see me immediately and she was fantastic...taking tooth out Thursday as they so busy and would need half hour ....i really was not expecting that ...they've registered me with them ...i had booked private around the corner but this private saw me straight away ....and cheaper ...but compared to others of same name in the area ...so pleasant and reassuring ...I've had receptionists not look at me and one yawned at me before ...at the same place that was rude to me.... Unless I was boring :D ...feeling happier about that ...lovley people ...and receptionist beyond the call of duty lolol crying with me  bless her .....thankyou for your stories btw ....
