My cousin will be updating me tomorrow on the phone about my lovely Uncle ...at the moment no change as far a is know...he took some water by spoon but is still being tube fed ....when we talk on the telephone it's a better communication that text ....there is every possibility he will be i hospital forChristmas ....i miss him...used to talk on the telephone loads when he was stronger and living at his own home about three years ago....reminiscing and things....I think if he didn't have my cousin and family around him he wouldn't be here...always been feisty though...never suffered fools gladly but so lovely ...i remember my auntie telling me when some young couple cut him up,in the car and he was fuming ....the way my auntie described the scene ...uncle confronting them and the girl in the car shouting an expletive it him was hilarious because I'd never heard my auntie swear before lol....and some fella was getting a bit shirty with him in a jewellers once so uncle grabbed him by the collar ...the bloke said all right... pops calm down....hilarious when thinking about it but he is not a trouble maker ...he fought in Burma and a lot of his friends unfortunately fell ....i always new when uncle was around and auntie Kath they would spoil me ..bless them ...and when I gave birth to my Matthew ...uncle lee came round with a teddy for him ..he had just retired and wanted to see us ... He had a great way of telling stories too ...holidays etc..and he always said to me in the last decade ...get on your holidays as much as you can because when you get to my age you cant do it .......bless them ...

So nice to hear a little more about Uncle Leon, he sounds just lovely , you are lucky to have such a special uncle. I hope you can get to see him over Christmas, even though he may still be in hospital.

Uncle Leon sounds real no-nonsense guy. He's quite right to put obnoxious people in their place as some of them think they are little Gods.

 Karl ...he really is a no -nonsense guy for sure ...my auntie was always rolling her eyes lol....they were great together ...and because he was always the one with the health issues ...diabetes mainly we always thought that it would be auntie Kath left behind bless her...he always said he wishes it had been him not her that had gone first bless him ...he's carried on for 12 years without her...my cuz moved him to where they are now .. W. Yorks ...he came from Chatham kent like Mum ..they grew up,there...and Pete and I got our first home around the corner in gillingham...for four years ...they worked hard and got my cousin into uni in the 1970s which was difficult in those days ..Mum thought the world of him....when he was little my nan used to say ...go,and watch Freda if she was talking to boys and he would squirt his water pistol at them lol and he once chased her with a chicken ...when they were little ...she used to help with his homework as nan was always working bless her ...and listen to him practicing his plays ...no father as he left nan ...weal, went to pontins when I was a little girl...happy days ....

Lovely memories for you Maxine. A long time for Uncle Leon to be without Auntie Kath. Sounds like you could write a book about him. I'm intrigued about him chasing someone with a chicken---was it a live chicken or a dead chicken---either way , the mind boggles !!

Hi all just to let you know that uncle has no real change ...he has mrsa in his legs and a nurse with him all times...he gets very confused and doesn't even know much when my cousin there...when he did know a couple of weeks go he told them to enjoy Christmas and said I must have a share in a card factory because I'm kind enough to keep sending them ... Bless him... Since then he hs not been really with it i think ....he's not suffering which Is such a relief ...and a small blessing ....
