It is hard to come to terms with these things Maxine. You have to remember that Uncle Leon is being looked after well, and has got lovely family like yourself for support.

Very sorry to hear your Uncle isn't as well as he seemed earlier Maxine, but as the others have said, he is having the best of care and a loving family around him.

Thank you John and Marian....I'm going to keep it to myself and hubs and at the moment because my son is about to do his exams at uni ...he knows how it goes with some elderly people as he cared for them for a year but he knows how much uncle means to me.....thank you for your kind words...I've hardly stepped foot on this forum and I'm not made to feel a nuisance ...I think I might contribute when I feel its appropriate for me if that makes sense....as everybody knows times like this are an emotional roller coaster and I don't think its it fair to you all bring my baggage everyday unless I'm genuinely feeling able to contribute without feeling sad all the time .....goodness knows January isn't a great month for lots of people anyway .....I've been digesting the news this evening and laughing at ken Dodd and feeling guilty for laughing ....but it's helped and I know hubby worries sick about me so hopefully it's helped him too...kind thoughts for you all for the new year ....xxx

That is good news Maxine, definitely a positive sign.
My Uncle Wright, who is 91, had to be taken to hospital today, I don't know the full details yet, but his next door neighbour, who was Auntie Edith's (and my Dad's) cousin, found him on the floor. My other Aunt phoned me this morning to tell me. He has done so well since Auntie Edith passed away just over 5 years ago, and managed on his own. It is frustrating for me because he lives about 70 miles away, but hopefully we can get to see him at weekend. Hopefully I will know a bit more later on tonight.

Thanks Maxine, I phoned the hospital tonight, but they couldn't tell me much, the nurse I spoke to was very nice, and she went to have a look at my Uncle while I was on the phone, and she told him I was on the phone and asking about him, she said he was sat up in bed waiting for the doctor to come round, but she said he smiled when he told her. Perhaps I will find out more tomorrow, one of my Aunts may go and see him.

John I hate to hear of elderly people falling but let's hope he bounces back again, when Peggy fell it was basically her failing eyesight but she's walkign again with a zimmer frame - she may be tiny but she's strong.

Hoep you get some good news tomorrow.

Glad to hear your news Maxine, hope your uncle continues to improve.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Wright John. He has done so well for the last few years hasn't he? Let's hope this just a minor blip and he gets over the fall very quickly. Thinking of you x.
