That's one of my favourites of Al's John, Sinatra and Damone also recorded it.
I'm listening to Perry Como "World Of Dreams "... thanks for this John. :lol:

"Someone to watch over me" is one of my favourite songs--I am not sure at present which is my favourite version--probably Karen Carpenter, although she only sings a small part of it, in a medley with Ella.

The best version I've ever heard of Someone To Watch Over Me is by Gertrude Lawrence. She sings it very straight with the opening verse and I believe in the original key. I prefer this song with minimal or no embellishment.

We've just been talking to our friends in America who worked on the stage and lighting for some Julius La Rosa shows. :lol:
Listening to "Let Me Be Your Wings" sung by Barry Manilow from John's " More Desert Island Disks."

Yes, Julius La Rosa sings "This Is Heaven" beautifully on YOUTUBE, on the Arthur Godfrey show, little did he know that he was getting the big heave-o right there on stage on the next video clip. :shock:

Just listened to Matt singing From Russia With Love on Russell Davies :)

Listening to Dewi now on listen again.........he's just made his first mistake, saying the film of South Pacific was released in 1954.......... instead of 58 :wink:

Italian day on Eric Hall................did you have Spaghetti for tea L&H....................I bet your watching a Spaghetti Western at the moment :wink: :lol:

We started to listen to Russell Davis but a programme came on tele about Andre Previn. Very good it was too. He went through Five Wives, so to speak :wink: so it wasn't all music. :lol:
No we didn't have spaghetti for tea Robert. We do like spaghetti bolognese though with a fair amount of cheese. :)

Just heard Frank Sinatra's Bewitched on David Jacobs prog. :lol:

Peter and I watched the programme on Andre Previn last night too, Lena and Harry. Apparently it was to celebrate his 80th birthday.
What an interesting life he had. We hadn't realised all the input he had into movie themes etc. as well as all his talents in the jazz and classical field.

We didn't realise his input into movies and jazz either Marian and always thought of him as a classical pianist. It proves how multi talented he is.
Many in the showbusiness world lead such turbulent lives though don't they. :roll:
