My uncle Leon very poorly
Re: My uncle Leon very poorly
I've had two spells in hospital in the last few years, after a hip replacement and then a stroke, and both stays were good, if not spectacular! The food wasn't too good but then I had to have soft diet after the stroke. I lost nearly a stone!
I hope your Uncle is comfortable if he goes into the hospice Maxine.

George never actually got to go into our local Hospice, although he was due to. But I have been to see several friends who had to go in. Our Hospice is called "Hospice in the Weald" and is one of the lovliest, most tranquil places I know. I have been there since George died, they have a remembrance book, and several gardens of remembrance, where you can buY flowers in memory of a loved one. At the time it was a bluebell path, so George is in the Bluebell book--but they have a rose garden, peony garden etc etc.

Re: My uncle Leon very poorly
Uncle Wright is back in hospital again, same thing happened again, another fall. This is the 3rd time in about 7 weeks. I really don't know what will happen now, I think he is going to need more of a care package, I don't think 1 person coming once a day for a few minutes is enough for him now.
Re: My uncle Leon very poorly
John that's a shame, I am sorry to hear that. Do you think he will be taken into care now?
Re: My uncle Leon very poorly
I don't know Karl. I will phone the hospital again later on. I only spoke to him on Saturday as well and he sounded fine then.

Re: My uncle Leon very poorly
Thanks Maxine, I phoned the hospital tonight, he had moved wards again from yesterday, the nurse couldn't tell me a lot as he had only just been moved, but she said he was smiling away and quite happy. Just have to see how he goes on again.

Re: My uncle Leon very poorly
Sorry to read about your uncle being back in hospital John. We hope that they will be able to offer him a suitable care package so that you will have peace of mind knowing that he will be looked after.
Re: My uncle Leon very poorly
Very sorry to hear that Uncle Wright is back in hospital again John. It is worrying when the elderly keep having falls, I've had a couple myself recently, and a fall out of bed!! Must learn to take more water with it.
Seriously though John, I hope your Uncle will soon be home again with a more realistic care package for his needs. When someone lives alone though it's difficult to monitor them all the time. Does he have a call bell to alert someone close if he gets into trouble?
