THE FAB FOUR ..... GEORGE, PAUL, RINGO, AND JOHN

Post by Clint » Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:45 pm

Who all like the Beatles? I was lucky I played in a group when I was younger, we used to get use of a TA hall on a Thursday night, the carer of the hall was an usher at the ABC Cinama where the Beatles were playing, we got to meet them back stage, I still have there autographs yet,on e-bay I was ofered $16.000 buy an American last year but turned it down, in no way will I part with them, they will only go up in value, the thing was it was the one and only time they played in Edinburgh

I think we have mentioned the Beatles several times on this forum-I have always loved them and their music, as did my husband.

I did go to see them once at the Hammersmith Odeon [as it was then], and took my young sister--about 10 years old. We did not hear a word they sang--but wow, what an atmosphere!!

I envy you having their autographs, and I must admit for that kind of money I would have been tempted !!

That sounds like bad luck if you did not get at least one thing as a reminder of Harry's brother !!

I had one piece of memorabilia of the Fab Four. I bought a tin of Mayfair Beatles talc as a teenager from Boots for a few pence, and sold it a few years ago for a few hundred on ebay. A very nice profit! :D :D
How I wish I'd bought more.

That was lovely profit Marian. :)
Harry's brother Ron had always been involved in the pop scene, had a recording studio that he hired out to groups for rehearsals and was a drummer in a group himself. They played at the Palace Theatre Torquay for a season with Jerry Stevens who was part of the duo with the late Lenny Bennett and had partied with Ruby Murray and her husband and was Sting's road manager when the "Police " toured Montreal Canada in the Seventies where he met stars and celebrities including Sinatra. Ron said he had goosebumps when Frank walked into their hotel room. :) :) and he didn't even sing. :)
Flowers were delivered at Ron's funeral from Sting and Trudi Styler and all Stings mucic was played throughout the service.

I do love some of Stings music, although he is rarely mentioned on here.

His version of "Fields of Gold" juat cannot be beaten, as far as I am concerned.

It sounds as though Ron had a very fascinating life.
