Thanks Eman; the verse tries to pay tribute
to the unsung heroes of music. There are two
repeats of sitcoms currently showing here in the
afternoons on BB2, whose theme music exemplifies
superb yet unheralded compositions.

SEASONAL SOLACE
While we glacially bid "good riddance"
to this surly winter as he slinks ashamedly
away from the deplorable devastation
of his stormy outbursts and continual rains,
we look forward warmly to the presence
of sunny-natured Spring bringing the probability
of refreshing outdoor recreation
and even balm for our arthritic pains ...

As winter's go we've had no snow
And that's the way I like it
Just lots of rain and loadsa wind
The kind that blows your fence down
We're into March It's blowing hard
The sun is playing games
Hide and seek a little hail
but sure it's not so bad
The birds are building massive nests
I swear they'll need a lift
It's two floors up
A big drop down
They'll land right in the yard
With magpies hunting twigs and stuff
To make their nests look bigger
I swear if it gets larger now
They're going to need a digger!

Re: POEMS - With Tongue In Cheek
Winter was wet and very windy
We endured three months of low pressure
But things are now warming up a tad
And the snow has so far stayed away
Which to my mind is not that bad

We have a wealth of talent
As we all like Matt Monro
We're half-way into March now
So no more bloody snow!

Softly, I will leave you softly
For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go.....

Oh Maxine you're terribly posh, the Scottish version is "Ne'er Cast A Cloot 'Til May Is Oot" and it's true.maxine wrote:"never cast a clout till may is out" stuff that ...we have had wonderful weather
Although our weather is so crazy and unpredictable it can be nice in March or April. My granny passed away in April '66 and it was freezing, my dad passed away in April '87 and it was summer weather.
Re: POEMS - With Tongue In Cheek
I remember snow on the ground on my daughter's birthday on April 15th. All the spring flowers squashed, but they recovered!
