In the Musical now running Paul Michael Glaser takes the part of Tevye, the father--so the daughter will be singing to him. I could never remember the names of the daughters !
But I love that film so much.

In fact we had an argument at our quiz last night---one of the questions was , what musical did the song "Money Money , Money" come from--so I said "Cabaret" of course--but someone insisted it was "Fiddler on the roof" as she remembered someone singing it " in a foreign accent" But as I said , I know "FOTR" inside out, I know it is not from that, so things got a bit heated--but I was writing the answers down, and I would not budge !!!!!

Incidentally the same lady, just a few weeks ago, insisted that Doris Day was in "Annie get your gun" as she could see her riding on the wagon !! Again, I ignored her !!!!

well done Marian good for you...a passion for a beautiful musical ... i feel the same way ....My sons' school did their own version of it about three years ago..my boys were grown up and had left the school but hubbyis on the school panel of governors ..voluntary ..so we went to see it....oh my goodness it was soooo moving seeing
these innocent children perform FOTR ...i couldnt stop raving about them...amazing and more moving because of their innocnece :)

Just like Matt, I find there is a comforting feeling in listening to Val a certain warmth if you will. These are the only two singers that I can say that about.

Yes Maxine Val did sing that but I discovered a song he sang - I think on one of the programmes BBC4 repeat he did Dusty's "I Only Want Top Be With You" but slowed it down and sang it ballad style, it was nice.

I Have Dreamed is a favourite album for me. I tend to play I Have Dreamed and How Soon most.

Buster - Best & New. Buster was RCA records answer to the BCR's in the 70's. They had a minor hit in the U.K. with Sunday but were really big in Japan.

Mike, I think Matt has the perfect voice for singing such a song as Friendly Persuasion with the songs clear wording and distinct phrasing :D
