This weekend is the annual Syd Lawrence Convention at Potters,Hopton On Sea.
Apparently tomorrow night they may be recording for a new BBC4 programme called 'LEN GOODMAN'S BIG BAND SHOW'. The S.L.O. have been asked to take part.Whether Len will be there we don't know.

Also the S.L.O have a season of weekends during July and August at the GLOBE THEATRE BLACKPOOL

For awhile I wanted Syd's Glenn Miller album as I used to have it on vinyl, I finally bough
the cd a few weeks ago and it's great!

No sign of Len,but the recording was done behind a closed ballroom.The show is due to be aired in December.
A fantastic weekend.The band were in top form as usual and we had the added bonus of a Sinatra night with a guest singer,a young guy called ATILA HUSEYN.I wondered if he had ever performed at any of your Sinatra events Lena and Harry.?He certainly has a great voice with some intonations of Sinatra.Check him out on google,I hope that he makes a success of his career.

I just checked him out it's actually Atila Huseyin, he toured in 2006 wirth Buddy Greco and John Dankworth is also mentioned in his write-up.

Good voice I listened to the clips and he has made a few cd's.
