Matt opened tonight's show with On a Wonderful Day Like Today :) but a lot of these radio show's play Matts more uptempo songs, but I wish they would play more of Matt ballads, were Matts wonderful voice really comes into it's own :) no one can sing a ballad like Matt can...................Frank may run Matt close, along with Vic and Nat, but Matt is no.1 8) 8)

So glad to see so many people listen to David Jacobs show on R2, why is it on at 11pm at night, its the best show of the week, although I also like Desmond Carrington on Tuesdays. Love all his music especially the Matt tracks, I'd like him on every evening of the week.
David has Matt and all those other singers that you cannot hear anywhere else on the radio, I love him!

David Jacobs and his music are very popular on this Forum-I quite like him being on at that time of night--I can just go to bed, and listen--no interruptions fom anywhere or anyone--the only drawback is that i sometimes drop off!!

And I guess for anyone working it's not so good.

But anyone can listen to the show on the listen again feature for the next seven days, if they miss DJ on Sunday night. Just realised DJ are very apt initials for him :)

Very true Robert, I often do have DJ on "listen again", he so cool, think Radio 2 should have a DJ hour every evening.
My trouble with Sunday nights is that I often listen to him in bed and then nod off and miss everything! Thank god for the listen again device on BBC website! I always appreciate David playing tracks by Matt and others that you don't always hear, LP tracks etc from so long lost album, he is a national treasure!

:?: I wonder if David Jacobs reads the Matt Monro forum postings? I can't recall him ever playing The Shadow of Your Smile and I recently suggested he play it.

Please join us, Mr Jacobs, in our discussion of 'our kind of music'. :) And thanks for playing People Will Say We're In Love. I listened to it twice. :)

I also loved "People will say we're in love"--I have never heard of Christine Andreas. I checked out Amazon, but that recording is only available on cassette . But I might check elsewhere, when I have more time.
