What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
Re: What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right
A mixture in the car today, Ray Price's final album "Beauty Is", Nana Mouskouri, a various artist compilation and Jackie Trent "Trentquility".
Re: What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right
You have Trentquility John? I am impressed! I was at some of the sessions for that.

A great album, Karl.

Today I listened to all three discs from The Music Of Frankie Valli & The 4 Seaons box set, disc 4 is a dvd so I also watched that and I have just seen his appearance on American Idol wher he looked and sounded great (was that 2013 I wonder?)
Frankie will be 80 next month, it was interested to see how their hair and clothes changed over the years on the dvd. From short haired suited guys to longer hair and more trendy attire! However a suit never goes wrong and always looks smart.

Listening to Matt singing the lovely Friendly Persuasion tonight......... if ever a song was written for Matt to sing, then this is the song, Matt's masterful tones fit the words of the song perfectly

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

I bought that as a single years ago by Pat Boone, a lovely song.

I Have Dreamed is an album with a great selection of songs on it. Friendly Persuasion is great. The Pat Boone version is very nice too.

Ray Conniff Masterworks - The 1955-62 Albums.
14 albums on 7 cd's in miniature album sleeves and boxed, the sound is wonderful.
Ray Conniff in concert is one of the best concerts I ever saw, I always wwanted to see him again. The mutual admiration between Ray and Skeets Herfurt was amazing - they just bounced off each other.
Another thing that impressed me was the way the singers kept re-grouping after several songs, they did not just stand in the one spot all night. A truly memorable evening.

Dusty In Memphis (A 2 LP set which plays at 45rpm, I just heard about this recently and tracked it down. It wasn't cheap but it does sound great. It arrived in a few days very well packed)
Re: What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right
Dusty in Memphis that plays on 45? Wow..I bet the sound quality is good as the bands are large for each song.. What country is the record from Karl?

America, it has the same Atlantic label and catalogue number as the original album which I also have.Eman wrote:Dusty in Memphis that plays on 45? Wow..I bet the sound quality is good as the bands are large for each song.. What country is the record from Karl?
This is the first time I've ever heard of an LP playing at 45!

Karl, it's probably a 180gm audiophile pressing. Normally when they do this it's to improve the sonics of the record and give it a louder playback. Suppose to give the record more life and punch when it's played. I have Fleetwood Mac's lp Rumours like this and some other special pressings of other albums.
