"Following another idea of her father, Francis travelled to London in August 1959 to record an Italian album at EMI's famous Abbey Road Studios, entitled Connie Francis sings Italian Favourites.
The album was released in November 1959. Soon after it entered the album charts where it remained for 81 weeks, peaking at # 4. It remains to this day Francis' most successful album release. The subsequent single culled from this album, "Mama", reached # 8 in the United States and # 2 in the United Kingdom"
