BRASSED OFF ONSTAGE

Post by karl » Thu May 01, 2014 11:45 pm

I always liked this film but tonight I saw it onstage starring the excellent John McArdle but I was surprised to see Andrew Dunn (Dinnerladies) also in the cast.

I would have enjoyed it more if the volume had been louder, I felt the actors were not miked, some spoke louder and clearer than others but of course with the accents they were using it was quite broad.

The live band were excellent and were from local areas.

They are doing this tour as it's the 30th anniversary of the miners strike.

Yes, let us know how you enjoyed it.

I don't have any shows booked now until October but I would like to book a theatre tour at the Festival theatre.

Glad you enjoyed the show.

The latest Usher Hall brochure arrived this week and next month they have an Armed Forces Proms Concert with special guest Gary Chilton (from The Soldiers). Proceeds go to several forces charities so I must book for that.

That sounded really good Christine. More shows to come too :D

We have only got Marty Wilde in June plus an undecided show to see in London on June 21st.
My sister in law and I go on a day trip with our local theatre club so have seen quite a few.
The worst one we chose last year was ONCE.Not our cup of tea at all

I saw Marty Wilde for the first time about nine years ago and he was great.
