DUSTY'S ANNIVERSARY

Post by karl » Mon Nov 25, 2013 9:38 am

This month is the 50th anniversary of Dusty's first solo single "I Only Want To Be With You".

To quote my late friend JIm:-

"I Only Want To Be With You" IS THE 60'S.

Yes and my original 45 still plays as good now as it did then.

Wow 50 years already just like Doctor Who and soon to be me!! I think I still have my parents original 45 somewhere also. Though I do have their lp which still plays well except for the occasional surface noise. My Dad always taped the records on to a reel tape and put the lps away for safe keeping.

Thanks Gray, we have Sky but we lost our signal yesterday with all the heavy rain and thunder. I'll give it a go. :)

I have the dvd which has been re-released several times, Dusty sings the most beautiful version of Karla Bonoff's "Lose Again" on this show, it's so good she could not have bettered it in a recording studio.

During one song Dusty plays up to the camera guy who is very near her onstage and she makes a remark which is quite funny.
