special days in August

Seeing that we are such a close knit family, I thought it would be nice if you let us know the dates in the year that are special to you.

it is my lovely friend Dee's birthday today. I have known her since i was 7 years old--we lost touch and she got back in touch via Friends Reunited, and we have met up quite a few times. Ever since Dee was a tiny girl, even before I kew her, she loved dancing, and she went to ballroom dancing lessons--I remember her mum staying up and making all the lovely net and glitter dresses for her, and she has danced all her life--in competitions and for pleasure. however, she has recently been having pains in one of her knees, and having all sorts of tests---she has to go back to hospital this week, as they think she may have cancer in that knee. We are all prayting that it is not cancer.

Praying for your dear friend Marian.......x

As a mother ...watching my sons friend's mother grieve him ..( Christopher who died in a fire aged 11 )...
I cannot even being to imagine the pain of a parent losing their child ....witnessing Christopher's Mum and family is a trauma i never want to experience again ...along with watching my Mum grieve my sister ...whom we did not know was dying ....Mum had all my sisters baby photos out in her hand and I had to cradle her like a baby ....( crying as I write this) also although I can never actually understand your Pain Christine and Graham ....i totally feel for you .....and can still hear the wails of pain at the funerals ...and Christopher's Mum as a mother myself ..I will never ever forget the sounds from her as she walked to the coffins...Christopher's Nan died too ..he was sleeping at her house ......my youngest son was a best friend ...I feel he lost a part of his childhood the day Christopher died ....
Softly, I will leave you softly
For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go.....

Sorry Christine and graham, i did not intend to ignore your post about your lovely daughter Deborah and her baby. i know that 3 years on, it will still be hurting as much as ever. Thinking of you both, and the rest of your family.

Thanks Sandra and Lena & Harry, actually I can still remember my 21st.

Anyway if you listened to Sounds Of The 60's today you will know as I had the three in a row slot of Dusty, Jackie and Chris Farlowe.

Today was also the birthday of my late cousin Carole.

My birthday was very quiet as most of my friends & family are on holiday, I decided I was NOT going to cook on MY birthday so I bought a Fuller Longer meal in M&S opened a bottle of red and had Haagen Dazs ice cream for dessert.

I did go into town forgetting the festival was on and the city was heaving so I came home again.
