Yes, I did see that about Barbra---I thought that Cliff Richard was in the same category too.

But still have not caught up with the first episode yet.
It would be interesting to know what Lulu tracks you have heard Marian as she made some great album tracks too, also her version of The Prayer with Russell Watson is outstanding - I couldn't believe it was Lulu when I first heard it. There is so much more to Lulu than Shout you know, same with Cilla I don't like her singing everything but she's made some great albums.

To be truthful Karl, I have not heard much from Lulu, Just her "hits"---no album tracks at all.

I'd offer to make a cd but you never said if the last one's arrived?

Sorry Karl, I did email you to let you know they arrived, of course I did. Where do these missing emails go-do you check your spam mail--my sisters post often goes in mine, athough it should not. !

Well the finale of Cilla was tonight.

I have to say I thought it was excellent and tonight was quite moving, I didn't want it to end.

Sheridan Smith was excellent as Cilla.

A couple of weeks ago Sheridan Smith featured in the TV programme "Who Do You Think You Are " ... this being the programme that researches family history and among Sheridan Smith's past generation her late Paternal Grandfather was a musician and Sheridans' Father who was a great admirer of his Father also played the banjo..
During some time of her being away from home Sheridan decided to learn how to play the banjo and surprise her parents, particularly her Father with a song that he and his dad often played... "There's No Place like Home" It was such a heart warming programme.
I was just struck by what a natural and lovely personality she had, and that's what made me watch "Cilla " and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Sheridan played the part brilliantly, and as Karl said it was quite moving. She is not only a very good singer but multi talented too. :)

L & H I did not see Sheridan in Who Do You Think You Are but I did see Martin Shaw, it's quite an interesting programme.

Some I've found a bit more interesting than others Karl, but I am hoping to catch up on Martin Shaw's one, and I'm sure Sheridan Smith's one is still available for catching up.
Nice to see someone natural and carrying no big ego. :)

I have watched both episodes so far but fell asleep halfway through them!
Shame on you Jon, falling asleep at the tv is an old man's habit - what's YOUR excuse? lI's also a habit I have never got into as I am interested in what I[m watching, if not I switch it off .
Well, I am 54 - not old admittedly - but could be fitter. I didn't mean the programme made me fall asleep; I quite enjoyed it.
I think Cilla was very lucky ....she was given a killer song ....and she owned it ....but personally for me ...it went down hill from then ....and I think the same for Lulu ...with To Sir With Love ....I think they were both extremely lucky ....and feisty ...which you need in that industry ..espeacially as a woman ....you have no friends in the music buisness ...
Like others here, I can't agree: Lulu had a great voice and recorded some great songs, but "Shout" wasn't necessarily one of them.

I love To Sir With Love ......

And thinking about one more of Cillas ....You are My World

But ....wouldn't buy album ...even though I love though songs ....

I would listen on my computer ;0) 8)

It's like Mariya Cary ...I love ...All I Want For Christmas .....but then it stops there( spelt name wrong I know )

Seeing Rhydian Roberts in two weeks ....I could listen to his albums all the time ...

I think I enjoy male singers better but I make an exception with Adele ....I'm not a band wagon person either ...I think she is amazing and her voice moves me ...
Softly, I will leave you softly

Although I like many male singers I've always had a fondness for female singers.
