Did anyone watch the Frank Sinatra ...Our Way programme on TV last night introduced by Alexander Armstrong.
After all the hype, the Seven entrants gave their best but no one really stood out and the young lad who won deserved it.

Having seen the real thing I did not want to watch any Sinatra Wannabees, anyway I had friends in.

The young lad who won was definitely the best, but all in all we didn't really enjoy the programme. It didn't seem that there was a point to it.

I agree, it was pointless and none of them did the songs any justice. The only good thing to come out of it is it gives the young lad the opportunity to appear on a show to mark Sinatra's Centenary. His gran will be pleased too.

We agree with all of your comments.What WAS the point?Why hype this programme up.We thought it was going to be a series not a vehicle for seven acts singing 'their way'.Sinatra deserves so much better.
It seemed a rush job as though the Centenary was any time soon,not December.
It had to be the young lad who won,and why WAS everyone so young.What happened to the older guy from the trailer.??????A very strange affair.

Better idea would have been to repeat Frank's Concert For The Americas, that was brilliant!

Yes, that's right Robert and of course it gave Alexander a chance to show that he's quite a good singer.

I agree this programme seemed a bit pointless; it felt like it had been dreamt up on the back of an envelope to fill in the timeslot. But my main objection to it is because I've always regarded Sinatra as a greatly overrated singer and don't think they should do tribute programmes like this to him! I hate it when people casually describe a song from The Great American Songbook as a "Frank Sinatra cover" as I regard these songs as bigger than any one performer (though I accept certain songs such as Come Fly With Me are more associated with Sinatra than with anyone else.) Frank was, it's true, a major entertainer but that doesn't make him a better singer than anyone else and indeed a less good singer than some (Matt, for example).

I agree . totally disappointing. And where was Joan Collins--she was advertised as one of the judges in tv times. And I thought the other young boy was best-who sang "All the Way".

Jon everyone has their opinions but I can't agree with you on Sinatra, he had great control and timing, I did not like him singing certain songs but th e majority I did and I have stacks of his albums and box sets.

Yes, you are right Karl, of course it is a matter of individual choices and opinions and among Mr Sinatra's millions of fans worldwide we are also big Sinatra fans and have a massive collection of his music from his early 78s rpm records, videos, Vinyl Cds and books.
I first saw Frank Sinatra in 1953 Coronation year and have been fortunate enough to see him Three times since.
Al Martino and Matt have always been our special favourites. Those Two and Mr Sinatra we consider have enriched our lives.

L & H music in general has enriched my life and made me many friends worldwide. I can't live without music.

I saw Sinatra once at the RAH in 1977 and he was wonderful, We also had fantastic seats and really saw those Blue eyes and boy were they blue!

He was so good I never wanted to see himi again as I felt he could never better that performance, he was also great with the audience, in partidular one little girl who gave him a present.

Going back to this programme, in one newspaper today the columnist writes.... an insult to Sinatra, It's far too early to name the worst show of 2015, but this Tat Pack guff has set a blistering pace, and I'm sure the BBC spewed it out as part of a cunning ploy to make the return of "The Voice" this Saturday look like a welcome improvement.
Another newspaper's comment's, ...Frank would turn in his grave, this quite possibly the most bizarre piece of television and if Frank was still alive he'd sue.
