Special Days In May

Seeing that we are such a close knit family, I thought it would be nice if you let us know the dates in the year that are special to you.

Thirdly, Happy Birthday to my sister Carole--it was actually yesterday, but I thought today was the 23rd.

She has been through a tough time recently, but things are looking up for her now.

Thank you for the Birthday wishes Paul, another year down the drain  :) :)
Roy Castle was a much loved personality on our screens and as a versatile entertainer.. singer, dancer, actor but perhaps chiefly appreciated as a great Jazz trumpeter.
He of course appears on the "Go Go With Matt Monro" on the "Matt At The Movies " Satan's Harvest DVD.
Sadly Roy passed away in September from lung cancer at the age of 62

Many Happy Returns to your Mum today Sandra. We wish her many many more Happy Birthdays.
I certainly remember Empire Day. We celebrated at school with a morning assembly and a service.
All us pupils who were members of the Brownies, Girls Brigade or any organisation wore our uniforms and saluted the flag under instruction.
We danced round a made up maypole with coloured ribbons in the playground.
Happy Days. :) :)
Happy Birthday also to Marian's sister Carole for yesterday.
We hope things have got better for her now.

I hope your Mum enjoyed her birthday today Sandra, and that Marian's sister Carole had a lovely day too.
I don't remember Empire Day I'm afraid, but I do remember when we had the Empire Games, probably it's same as the Commonwealth Games now.
:D :D :D :D

Thanks everyone for your kind good wishes to my Mum.
We had a lovely day, good food, great weather and a good sing along in the car to Frank Sinatra.
I asked her a bit more about Empire Day and she described it exactly as you said Lena and Harry.Morning assembly,a service, dancing round the maypole and then the rest of the day off.

Thank you John and Marian for Anns Birthday wishes.
After an operation which led to an emergency dash from one hospital to another late last year Ann miraculously survived. Although it's a slow recovery she's happy to celebrate this Birthday.
