FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE PROMS.

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Sat Aug 29, 2015 12:17 am

Did anyone watch this show on BBC 4 ? Tributes to the great Band Leaders ...Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey. Glenn Miller. Both bands led by Guy Barker and Winstone Rollins were tremendouus. What brilliant musicians. !!! The singers showed that they were real pro's and sang some classic swing numbers with Clare Teal, the narrative throughout, Jamie Davis and Elaine Delmar singing "Sing Sing Sing" and Clarke Peters getting the audience participation with "Minnie The Moocha" The singing group certainly helped in making this concert fantastic entertainment. We thoroughly enjoyed it . :D

Don't ever get rid of BBCF 4, I Love It they show some great music programmes and I record the one's I like.
Wish I'd seen Minnie The Moocher that's a fun song, maybe that show will be repeated?

Yes, Sandra and John. We guessed you would be watching. It simply proves that the Big Band Swing era is the best sound you'll ever get. Can't believe the amazing talent from each individual musician giving their all.
Wonderful stuff. !!
It may be shown on IPlayer Karl.
