Don Black on Radio 2
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don played the "matchless" Matt singing the glorious Ebb Tide tonight
.............Don said he was speaking to someone from Matts record label who said Matts records are still selling very well
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
On his final programme of this series, Don played Matts first big hit, the magnificent Portrait of my Love
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don Black back on Radio 2 this Sunday December 6th to include his personal favourite MATT MONRO
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Thanks for letting us know Sandra ..........but Don's repeated stories and anecdotes are quite tiresome now
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
No repeat stories tonight from Don, who played "matchless" Matt singing Let's Face the Music and Dance ............Karl, Don also played Dusty's lovely version of Yesterday When I Was Young
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
AND he must have pleased many of us on his first week with not only Matt and Dusty but JACK JONES,JOHNNY MATHIS and FRANK SINATRA
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Robert Dusty's version of Yesterday When I Was Young is rarely played on radio infact I doubt I've ever heard it on the radio.
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don played Matt singing When You Wish Upon a Star tonight
...........but there are plenty of other Matts songs he could choose from.........but doesn't seem to choose them
......................he did repeat another story ........when Johnny Mathis rang him at 5am to see if he was alright after Don was caught up in an earthquake..........does he know or remember he is repeating stories I wonder

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Robert Don probably repeats the stories as no doubt he always has new listeners or else he does not have any new one's to tell!!!
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
As well as the beautiful When You Wish Upon A Star by Matt he also pleased our forum members again with Frank Sinatra,Jerry Vale and Johnny Mathis
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don does play some great songs from great singers, but...............he only mentioned the Johnny Mathis earthquake story at the end of his last series
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Email him and ask if he has short term memory loss.ROBERT M. wrote:Don does play some great songs from great singers, but...............he only mentioned the Johnny Mathis earthquake story at the end of his last series
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
I might just do that Karl.....................but his producer should jog his memory for him
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
