CLIFF MICHELMORE.

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Thu Mar 17, 2016 9:54 am

Have seen this morning that radio and TV Cliff Michelmore has died.
We remember him mainly for his regular Sunday mid-day programme in the Forty's with his wife Jean Metcalfe. " Two Way Family Favourites. " had special memories for us.
He always came across as such a nice gentleman
R.I.P. Cliff Michelmore.

I put the radio on to hear if they mentioned Frank Jr, they didn't but I heard this instead. I must admit I thought Cliff Michelmore had passed years ago. He was one of the foremost broadcasters of his generation.
RIP.

I wasn't quite certain if he had died either Karl. I can't remember seeing or hearing anything of him on TV or radio since his retirement. His wife Jean died in 2000.
The melody played by Andre Kostelanetz..." With A Song In My Heart " always reminds me of their programme. :)

I seem to remember him also presenting a Holiday programme on BBC1 probably about 30 years ago.
Good age at 96.
