I would be upset if I didn't include this A from these two incredible songwriters, singers, and performers.

Nick Ashford & Valerie Simpson - Found A Cure

Robert: Soon I'll be commenting on Maria from the BBC DVD. I guess it's not a surprise that it's your #1 Matt track. :)

Lena and Harry: Who is Robert White? Have we discussed him in the MM forum?

Paul, Robert White is a tenor, a beautiful voice.
He was born to a New York family, his father Joseph White was a well known true Irish tenor, known as The Silver Masked Tenor.
Robert's beautiful repertoire of songs are of those associated with the great tenor John Mc Cormack who was a great friend of the family.
I don't remember us having discussed him on the forum.

Paul--firstly---one track only for each artiste-Christmas or otherwise.

I think because we have done our favourite "Matt track" on another thread, there are not so many coming on this thread--but there is no reason why n they should not be on here too.

This is good fun, as lots of unexpected choices every day--so here is my next one

STUTZ BEAR CATS THE SONG THAT I SING

[This was the theme from the TV drama "We'll meet again" ]

I was not sure if anyone would know---or remember that one.

"We'll meet again " was such a lovely series-- I dp not know why they do not reoeat it again--some of the rubbish that is repeated is just abysmal.

Never even knew Glenn Miller recorded a song called My Hero. :o :?

I've been listening to the music of this band for two days -- trying to break a four way tie. Such a hard choice, but I will go with these easy swing number:

The Count Basie Orchestra - Corner Pocket

Hi Sandra, Glenn Miller didn't actually ever record the song "My Hero." The Syd Lawrence Orchestra is playing My Hero in the Ralph Flanagan's Glenn Miller style.
Ralph Flanagan sounded very much like Glenn Miller and he did record it.
You are right though...Syd Lawrence really does this beautiful song justice.
:)
