Hi Marian, Robert, Lena & Harry

Since you have all not heard the song before, may I assume that Charlie Rich was not BIG in UK? Sunday Kind Of Woman was played often on Malaysian radio. It is a nice song and all of you are in for a treat when the twofer is released. But for me, I just can't wait to hear Matt croon ONLY ONCE from The Long & Winding Road album.

Marian has given us something quite difficult there.......doesn't ring a bell for me.

Here are Charlie Rich's major hits in the UK.

#2 The Most Beautiful Girl Feb 1974
#16 Behind Closed Doors Apr 1974
#37 We Love Each Other Feb 1975

I don't recall Sunday Kind Of Woman song being played on the radio in the US --- on either country, pop, or MOR radio stations. It must have been promoted primarily to the Asian markets. My favourite Charlie Rich song was A Very Special Love Song.

Marian's lyrics are familiar, but I can't place the song at this time.

Hi Terence and Paul---yes I remember Charlie Rich--the songs that Paul named are the ones I remember most--but again "Sunday kind of Woman" is completely new to mw. We'll be looking forward to that coming out on cd.

My new words come from a song that was featured in a musical.--But not Rodgers and Hammerstein!!

Hi Paul, Marian, we have several Charlie Rich recordings and "The Twelfth Of Never," "Tomorrow Night "Is Goodbye That Easy To Say" all good numbers even though he murders " Nice n Easy" but out of the few country singers that we like to listen to Charllie Rich is one of them.
We haven't got Sunday Kind Of Woman by Matt, and didn't know that it was written by Charlie Rich. but we do now

Hi all---looks like "Sunday kind of Woman " is a rarity--no wonder nobody could guess it. It will be really interesting to hear it. I believe Charlie Rich died a few years back.

Hi Marian, we admit that we found this one a little easier.
We think it's "JEAN "

So we'll follow on with another easy one...
I Know I'm So Lucky That I've Found A Girl So Fine.

Of course that lyric is from the song Jean! I've been trying to think of that for a day now and just couldn't get it. And I play that song on the piano all the time---especially since it was popular summer song. But the musical clue completely confused me. What musical did Jean come from? It was featured in the film The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie from 1969. But I didn't know it was also featured in a musical.

Lena and Harry's lyric ring no bells for me.

Hi everone--well done Lena and Harry--it was of course "Jean ". I do not know why I said it came from a musical--I was obviously thinking of something else

Sorry if I put you off, Paul---but there's no point in making them too easy, is there??

Robert, thank you for the information re Tiny Tim, and Charlie Rich. This is like having my own personal secretary    And it saves me from looking it all up. Remember , I have 2 puppies to entertain

Hi Marian, you may have been thinking of the musical Brigadoon, with the song from that being "I'll Go Home With Bonny Jean"

This one is really easy, (Well when you know it) but here's another line,
"When we're walking together you slip your hand in mine."

Isn't that a little bit rude Lena and Harry, a double entendre?? when sung by a girl
