CRUISES

Post by karl » Thu Nov 09, 2017 12:51 pm

Michelle is right regarding Fred Olsen as I recently returned from one of their cruises.

They do indeed do farewell parties with a live band on deck when you leave a port, they have dance classes and many other things, Every day we had a live show from Big Band to Classical to Rock & Roll, the crew also did two shows and were very talented. We also had quizzes, talks on our future destinations and on the final night the fabulous food presentation with ice carvings etc:
Our captain was a very nice man to talk to and I had a brief chat with him one day as he was leaving the restaurant and I was entering.
This was my first cruise but I'd definitely do one again. The crew member Michelle mentioned was deplorable treating her that way. My crew were very approachable and got to know our names. Infact myhead waiter always said "Hello Mr. Karl" - they also made a big thing out of anyone's birthday with at least seven waiters round your table with a guitar singing Happy Birthday!

I have been on a F. Olsen Cruise, quite enjoyable.
October, 2017 I had a month in the Caribbean with P&O my third cruise with them, but my last !!!
Fortunately, the Caribbean was lovely, especially Barbados, when I ventured in a submarine, wonderful experience, so now I am a "sub-mariner".
