I'm a little confused: who cancelled at Blackpool? your friend or Matt Monro Jnr?

I haven't purchased my ticket for the Hayes concert yet. They are selling row F and usually I like to be higher. But soon I will purchase it.
Thank you Paul, Matt cancelled Blackpool but I don't know why!
The Paradise Room in Blackpool is a caberet room and we had a good table not too far from the stage, so I was looking forward to that, but I'm sure we'll catch him during the tour somewhere.
I do like all kinds of music...apart from Rap! is that classed as music?

Diane - Rap is classified as music. "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five is one of the greatest recordings ever made. I also like some rap music by Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G, and the Sugarhill Gang.

I hope the Hayes concert won't be cancelled. I'm flying from the US to attend it!

Oooops! got off on the wrong foot there  I know Tupac very well my son is a big fan I think that may have something to do with me not liking Rap myself...

Hi Diane---it depends what you mean by a good seat. I am near the centre of the front row--but some may say the sound is better further back. But I like to sit near the front

And Paul flying is over for the concert-and also the first Matt Monro Forum get-together on the same day!!!

And don't worry about not liking rap---we all have varying opinions on different singers, different songs etc---the only thng we all unanimouly agree on is Matt!!

Diane -- I'm sorry ... I didn't mean to be preachy about rap being classified as music. There is good and bad in any genre of music. I personally don't care for most rap music, but I still consider it to be music. I'm happy that you are familiar with your son's music! :)

Ha! Ha! Ha! you don't have to appologise, I know what you meant.
My son, thankfully likes all music and sometimes I even go 'dancing' into his room, especially when he's playing Al Greens 'Let's stay together' he dances me straight back out though :D

Marian...that's what I call a great seat! and just where I like to sit, even though I know the sound is a lot better further back.

Hi diane and welcome to the Matt Monro forum. I think most of the members on the MM message boards would unanimously say that "rap is pap" sorry Paul for that

Okay, Robert. My only request is that you all listen to "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. You will quickly change your opinion of rap music.

OK Paul, I know there will be a couple of rap songs that I do like, but most rap songs I will not like. I was speaking on behalf of the other members concerning my "rap is pap" quote.

Hi Diane, welcome to the forum and keep posting.
Congratulations on winning the Joe Longthorne DVD. In fact we had a lovely surprise, we won the same. It arrived yesterday.
I'ts wonderful. An incredible story of Joe, his courage and determination from his gruelling schedule of treatment for cancer to making a return to performing again.

I too dislike Rap. Some records, such as those by the group Gorillaz, have some appealing music, but then a rapper comes in halfway through and spoils it. It's talking, not singing, it seems to me, and so is not music. I think I'm fairly broad-minded but my tolerance stops there. Welcome aboard Diane; hope you enjoy your time here.
