Don Black on Radio 2
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Will Don come up with any different adjectives while he is away?
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Probably not, Mike
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
.............also, Don didn't play one of the songs on the list I sent him in June, during his recent series
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Why is Don's series so short, Elaine Paige & Paul O'Grady go on forever.
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Shocking he didn't bother playing any of Robert's wants, get him told Robertkarl wrote:Why is Don's series so short, Elaine Paige & Paul O'Grady go on forever.

It will be a waste of time Karl.......he ignored my first email so why bother with a secondkarl wrote:Shocking he didn't bother playing any of Robert's wants, get him told Robertkarl wrote:Why is Don's series so short, Elaine Paige & Paul O'Grady go on forever.

Don and Moira do three months at a time .........Don is supposedly busy writing songs/musicals etc.... to spare more time for the showkarl wrote:Why is Don's series so short, Elaine Paige & Paul O'Grady go on forever.

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don is back for a Christmas special on Sun 17th December
...............but then goes missing while January
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don opened his new show by playing "matchless" Matt singing Let's Face the Music and Dance .........he has played the song two or three times before........so why not play some MM songs he hasn't played at all !!!! .....................the show was supposedly a Christmas special, but Don only played a few Christmassy songs
...............anyway Don is now back........ let's hope we hear a few lesser Matt repeats in this and future series ................looks like my email definitely fell on deaf ears

I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Missed Don last night but will catchup soon. We know he plays a lot of the same tracks of Matt but he seems to play quite a few of our favourites so from a selfish point of view "Let's Face The Music... just happens to be another one! But of course any track by Matt would fine.
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Hammer away at Don's door until he hears you. At least Brian Matthews played records outwith the usual playlist, Brian was unique in that respect and is greatly missed.
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Yes I wondered if he knew about our site Robert and what stalwarts we are of Matts music.
I agree Maureen and Harry just LOVE Let's Face The Music such a fabulous arrangement.
Incidentally we got our request played on a local station- Radio Lincolnshire that do 3 hours on a Sunday. Two hours of big band swing and balladeers and then pop from the 50's and early sixties this week. We requested for our anniversary an early favourite.PRISONER OF LOVE.Now you won't hear THAT very often on the radio
