AMERICA'S GOT TALENT 2009.

Post by mariana44 » Sun Jun 21, 2009 11:12 pm

Anyone watching this---I have been following it as I usually do--quite a few talented acts on--mostly singers-some dancers--also some frightful acts as usual---but Friday night produced a great singer-I have forgotten his name --Danny, or Donald ?? he used to sing, and had a road accident 11 years ago that badly affected his vocal chords ands he could not even speak---I felt quite nervous for him as he came on the stage to sing, and the audience were really tough that night, and he had barely started singing when they were calling for him to be voted off-I shall never know how he carried on, but he did, and in the end the audience were cheering and standing up. He sang "You raise me up"--and he had a stunning voice--the best I have seen on AGT this year.

Yes, I saw that part on Friday night. I really couldn't understand why they were all booing him, because I thought he was really good, and how the audience changed towards the end.

I thought the debut programme was this Tuesday. Could it be aired in the UK prior to the US?

I'm just happy that Jerry Springer is no longer the host. Who are the judges?

Jerry Springer is the host Paul. Same judges as last year, Sharon Osbourne, David Hasselhoff and Piers Morgan. It's been on a couple of weeks now.

 You are watching last year's programme. Now I recall the singer Marian mentioned. I did watch the series last year, but I can't recall who won. Be sure to stick with the show, as there were several good performances.

But I'm upset because I wanted to discuss this year's show with all of you. :x

Oh I had not realised it was an old show--so the last one winner we saw--Terry the ventriloquist was 2 years ago then ??

Still enjoying it-another good singer called Emily on the last show I watched-I am about 4 days behind .

We shall have to discuss the new one with you next year, by the looks of it, Paul !

I'll have to let you know the host's name on Wednesday. I didn't recognise the name. He's a young African-American man.

My hair stylist just saw Terry performing in Las Vegas. She said he was absolutely fantastic and told me to go to Vegas to see him.

 No, it's not Barack Obama, Robert, but someone named Nick Cannon, 28 years old.

I'm now remembering last year's contestants. Some of them were quite good, but there was one singer that I didn't like at all. So it will be interesting to read your comments.

I have only just caught up with all the editions of AGT from last week. I think the judges made some poor decisions as to who went through--there were several good acts that slipped through their fingers---the singer Donald :the young boy on at the end who danced; a young girl who played piano and sang;the young country singer-Holly I think---another young girl singer Jessica, i think--the older lady singer, I think her name was Holly too. I could not believe the judges let them go.

Instead they put through that horrible "dancer"who just seemed to wriggle about:and I do not think there is any way they should have put Caitlin through---she was very , very sweet--but only 4 years old--there is no way she could perform in a headline show in Las Vegas---there were so many more who really deserved to go through , but did not.

I was very upset, to hear that the girl doing somersaults onto a pole, had fallen and badly injured herself--I thought she was brilliant--but at the same time, I could see that one slip could be very dangerous--as has been proved.

I also think that too many contestants are getting carried away emotionally--I know for many of them this is a really big deal, and some of them have been through really tough times, but they have to learn to control themselves, because in the end , it could damage their chances.

Update on the current US version:

We are almost finally finished with the auditions. Thank goodness as I can't bear the ridiculous acts. There are a few good singers and the usual magicians and dance troupes. My favourite are three young kids who sang to their mother when she was in intensive care. They are amazing singers. No solo singer is making the impression that Susan Boyle did.

I just read that the very annoying host is Mr. Mariah Carey. I think his real name is something like Nick Cannon.
