Not even our Matt, Marian ?? :) ...........I think Matt does a good job with the song :) ..............Big Spender alway's sounded waaay over the top to me :wink:

As I said Robert-I do not like anyone singing that song--be it Matt Monro--Johnny Mathis-I usually love most of Burt Bacharach music, but there are a couple of exceptions-and this is one.

I'm not keen on the song either Marian, but Cilla really squeals it out, I think. I know Cilla sings like that anyhow, and I do like some of her songs but just hate this one.

I Like Johnny Mathis's version of "Alfie". gray, I agree about Shania twain: represents cynical commercial merchandising of a music genre (country).
