Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Just finished listening to another good show from Don. He played some good songs from Ella Fitzgerald and Barbra Streisand and many others. Yes Christine we agree it was a beautiful song sung by Matt.
Re: Don Black on Radio 2

..........and Don said he was asked to name his favourite all time British female artist ……...we know Matt is his favourite male artist and he said it was ………….Dusty Springfield and played Dusty singing Yesterday When I Was Young

I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
We finally got to hear Matt singing the lovely Pretty Polly. There were quite a few of our favourites included as well.
There were some really good songs from Ella, Frank and Dusty too.
Looking forward to Don's return too on the 7th July. ☺

Robert from what you've said in the past Don has played that Dusty record before, why doesn't he go into the BBC Record Library and look for something different to play, Brian Matthews always managed it. God knows Matt & Dusty recorded enough songs in their lifetime!ROBERT M. wrote:On his final programme of this series (back on July 7th and Jools Holland is replacing Moira Stuart for the next three months) ….….Don had another very varied collection of songs including Elton John and the lovely Patti Page song Old Cape Cod……….he finally played Matt singing the lovely Pretty Polly tonight

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Have just played both versions back to back Karl, and I can honestly say it's Matt's version, he gives the song the full MM treatment as I'm sure Vic did on his version……...but it's definitely Matt on this occasion
