Also couldn't believe it's been 14 years since Bob Monkhouse left us :( :(

Robert, we used to see Matt a few times each year which was often at different clubs so we doubt very much that he would recognise us.
At one of the clubs on a separate occasion we saw Bob Monkhouse who was great and he should have finished his show at midnight but carried on for a further 45 minutes!! Sadly, none of these clubs are in existence now.

We are happy to be members of this great forum and long may it continue. ☺☺

Yes Robert, two very nice songs with others from Ella & Lena Horne.

What will we do with no Don to listen to next week!

As there wasn't the usual programme from Don this week, we just thought we would have some connection for our Sunday night slot and play the CD Matt Sings Don Black. ☺☺

Don's show tonight was dedicated to viewers requests ……….during the run down to the most requested song Don played his most requested "matchless" Matt song On Days Like These :) ......…at the end of the show Don played his most requested song which was the awesome Peggy Lee song The Folks Who Live On the Hill :) ...........but Don only played that song a couple of weeks ago

Karl, I don't think Don knows Matt recorded many of the songs I suggested

Don played one of Matts loveliest recordings tonight then said that's why I call him "matchless Matt Monro" after he sang his great version of I Have Dreamed :) :) ........but Don said Matt didn't record many songs from musical shows.......but Matts new CD is full of songs from musical shows which have appeared on many CD releases over the years .......does Don know how many songs Matt recorded in his career ? ...........here are a list of the songs from Matts new release (Disc 1) :) :) ..........
!. Impossible Dream
2. Stranger In Paradise
3. Put On A Happy Face
4. Hello Dolly
5. The Apple Tree
6. If She Walked Into My Life
7. The Sweetest Sounds
8. Sunrise Sunset
9. Walking Happy
10. I Only Miss Her When I Think Of Her
11. Come Back To Me
12. Look For Small Pleasures
13. The Lady Smiles
14. Lover's Caravan
15. Beautiful Beautiful World
16. What Makes It Happen
17. The Apple Tree (Alternate Vocal)
18. The Lady Smiles (Take 5)
19. Lover's Caravan (Take 2)
20. What Makes It Happen (Take 5)
Near the end of his programme Don said Jack Jones maybe coming over to the UK in the near future he then said he would invite Jack to do an interview for his show...….which will be a first for Don's show as he hasn't interviewed any other artist on his show before to my knowledge …………….and next weeks programme is his last in the present series :(

It seems Don does not know much about Matt's recording career, maybe he should do his homework or join this site !

Just caught up with Don's show and enjoyed listening to Matt singing I Have Dreamed.
Unfortunately we will miss Don's last show as we will not be here so will read the postings when we get back. ☺☺
