On his second show of the series Don played Matt singing Real Live Girl :) ..........the mystery singer was quite easy this week but I won't spoil it, apart from saying it's a she and she sings one of my all time favourite songs ……….I thought the show was a bit hit and miss this week...…..but I have to say that Julie London has a sexy voice :)

Yes John, Margaret's version is the best :) …………..I didn't recognise tonight's mystery singer while the song was playing  ........Don played "matchless Matt" singing a song from his first Capitol album with musical director Sid Feller who thought Matt was the best male singer in the business ……..the song You're Gonna Hear From Me :) .........Don said he alway's wanted to write songs like another Hackney born songwriter Lionel Bart, but it was in fact Matt who persuaded Don to write lyrics for Walk Away which did get his song writing career started

Really enjoyed Don's show this week. We agree Sandra & Robert that was a beautiful song sung by Eydie Gorme. ☺
We are fans of Eydie & Steve and we recently watched a video on YouTube of them in concert from Japan 1988 and well worth a watch.

Tonight's show was very good...….every one a winner as they say...……...but Don did say a couple of odd things...……...after he played Doris Day he called her the ageless Doris Day...………...and before he played Matt singing one of his signature songs Walk Away he said he was asked to write lyrics to the Udo Jurgens song but didn't say it was Matt who persuaded him to write the English lyrics for the song !...…... and as I said last week he said that the song started his successful song writing career but he also said it changed his life and also Matts life, even though Matt had already had hits with Portrait of My Love, My Kind of Girl and From Russia With Love etc...…...Don must really like Johnny Mathis as he plays a JM song every week...………..and the Dusty song was If You Go Away and after playing the song he called her the "very special Dusty Springfield"...……….. :)

I don't know if Don knows Doris Day has passed away or not ……….his comment is usually said for people still alive

We enjoyed Don's show this week. We were able to guess all the singers up to the mystery voice which unfortunately we got wrong!

We too thought that Dusty's song was beautifully sung.

Another good programme from Don tonight ………….he played one of my favourite Matt songs Ebb Tide calling him the "matchless" again :) .......... but no mention of Matts passing this week...…....I think Don think's all his listeners are a bit dim because his mystery singer was so obvious, he made it sound as though no one would know who it was until he revealed the answer !!

Yes it was another good show this week. There were some songs we had not heard before and as Don said they never really had the success that some of the other songs the composers had written.
We did guess the mystery singer but we also guessed/recognised some of the other singers too. 🙂🙂
