Listening to birds singing outside my window before they all collapse later with the heat.
Don't forget to put some water out for the birds
How are you all faring in these unusually hot conditions? I hope everyone is well.
It's a little too hot for my liking. :D  :D

Yes, it's been really hot and humid here also Marian. We had a thunderstorm on Tuesday night but that didn't clear the air. It's been quite uncomfortable really, though I suppose we shouldn't complain especially after last winter.

Hi Marain

I went to Holly's sportsday yesterday afternoon - it was roasting.
All the children had their bottles of water and hats on and all the parents were slapping sun cream on their munchkins - it was a lovely afternoon.

But the worst time for me is night time - trying to sleep in the heat. :(

I know Gray, last night seemed the worst night of all for sleeping.
It was cooler for a while this morning, but again this afternoon the heat returned as we watched the tennis and saw Andy Murray lose in the semi-final to Andy Roddick. :(
Hope Holly enjoyed the sportsday too. Did she take part in the sports..??

John, is that the one where Andy sings songs based on Classical music--I think I had this as an Lp, many years ago.

Good old Amazon !! I am always browsing on there--at least you know you are not going to get ripped off on postage like sometimes happens on Ebay--charging £4.00 to send a cd !!

Listening to Mirrors, the 1975 album by Peggy Lee. It's an album of neo-cabaret "art songs" written and produced by rock & roll pioneers Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, mostly arranged & conducted by Johnny Mandel.

Some songs are really weird like "Professor Hauptmann's Performing Dogs" but you have to give full marks to Peggy for daring to record something non-commercial.

Here's a review:

I think Amazon is great Marian. I used to order alot form Ebay, but use Amazon more now, and usually get the items either next day or the following day. (I never did get my money back from that Bewitched dvd set that never arrived from a seller on Ebay  )

John, if you paid by Paypal, you can file a dispute and ebay will help you to get your money back.

I will only dare buy from sellers whose feedback is 100%.

I am surprised you did not get your money back John--but maybe in this case the seller just vanished off the scene. Although I thought that paypal was there to protect your payments.

I think Amazon are brilliant-plus they are excellent and quick on returns and refunds.
