I have just tried Mariana's way of using colour too and I agree, it is easier. :D

That's the way I am doing after not being able to do it at all, until Harry came to my rescue

I like this new set up, rather than the first "new" one, which was a bit confusing to find new posts........the large "tick" makes it far easier :) ......................lori, you are one of our favourite MM maniacs now  :)

As usual I'm in the minority. I preferred the first "new" one. I especially liked the photos on the right side. And this forum doesn't work well on my blackberry. So I won't be around as much. :x :(

And I'm not liking the black background. The colours are the best feature.

The black background reminds of an polished black piano, where you see every speck of dust and all the smudges. And I'm seeing all that show up on my computer screen. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the black background. All the other forums I use have white backgrounds.

I've just noticed the very nice Forum heading at the top of the page in place of the annoying spinning disc.
Thank you, and well done Richard! :D :D

Yes, it's good to have the rotating reel gone. I was close to going mad looking at that.

:?: Any ideas as to what the two green images represent on the top banner? My guess is the husk from an ear of corn. :? But I can't get the connection with Matt Monro.

I just noticed a feature I like. There is a little white dot in the black circle to the left of the topic title ... I believe this dot indicates that I contributed to that topic. Very cool. :D

:?: Did you see that we can designate forum members as friends :) or foes  ? Not sure of the purpose of this feature ... perhaps to do mailing lists. :|

I think there are quite a few little additions to the Forum, that we will be finding out over the next few weeks.

Yes Paul, I had noticed the "friends" and "Foes" facility--hooefully we will all stay in the "Friends" category.

Also looks as though there may be an easier way to add an image--I have not got round to trying that one yet!!

Probably the two green images on the top banner just come as a design feature with the forum Paul, so probably have no connection with Matt Monro whatsoever. I quite like them though, as I do the forum generally. I even like the 'matt' black background.

Yes they are just part of the "skin" that has been added to the forum and mean nothing - just a pattern.

The forum has had a major software update and now matches better the feel of the original website.

It has taken many weeks of negotiation on Michele's part to get this updated by EMI - it may not be to everybody's taste but you can't please everybody all the time!

That's it now for changes!

I heartily approve of the new forum set-up. Especially
the green of 'ould' Ireland. I therefore propose a warm vote of thanks
for Michele and Richard. All together now, 'For they are jolly good fellows.'

I can see Michele's latest news, and the Spotlight on Humphrey Lyttleton--but I cannot see the Spotlight on Harry and Maureen---Is it me--is it AOL again--or is it just not there yet ?

I think it is Ok-I have just reread the"news" and it says Maurren & Harry's spotlight is in August, so it does not look as though we have a "Fan " spotlight this month.

Same here Marian, we thought it was delayed action with AOL again.  but great info on Humphrey Littleton.
As always, we enjoyed reading Micheles newsletter keeping us updated with all that's been happening and what's to come etc.
Just amazing really. :) Thanks Michele.
