I have just read that comedy actress Mollie Sugden has died after a long illness, aged 86.
R.I.P. Mollie.

Yes Marian, I have just read the news on Teletext :( ...........so soon after her co-star Miss Brahms (Wendy Richards) left us too :( RIP

Yes, I saw this news this morning--very sad news.

She was always so funny, especially in "Are you being served", along with Wendy Richard.

Yes, I was also sorry to hear this: Mrs Slocombe's...er, domestic familiar, shall we say, is one of the most celebrated jokes of TV comedy. Didn't realise she was as old as 86. RIP, Mollie, and thanks for the laughs.

Mollie was also Nerys Hughes's mother in The Liver Birds. I always watched, and enjoyed, that series too :D :D

And also I recall she was Annie Walker's landlady friend in Coronation Street (I can just about remember that :oops: :lol: ), was she called Nellie?
